MORE NATURAL BEACHES, MORE SUSTAINABLE BEACHES

Since 2020, in Mont-roig del Camp and Miami Platja we have been promoting a strategy of beach naturalization with the aim of preserving our coastal environment and addressing the effects of climate change.
This project seeks to transform beach management to make it more environmentally friendly, reducing the impact of human activity and raising awareness among residents and visitors.

What actions have been carried out?

The Plan is developed through four major strategic axes, with a total of 12 transformative actions:

REMOVAL OF SHOWERS ON THE BEACHES

to reduce potable water consumption and encourage more responsible use of water resources

REMOVAL OF BINS FROM THE SAND

to prevent waste from ending up in the sea or being scattered by the wind. This also promotes individual responsibility in managing one’s own waste

PROTECTION OF VEGETATION AND DUNE SYSTEMS

to support the natural regeneration of the coastal landscape

With these measures, we are committed to beaches that are more integrated into the natural landscape, contributing to the health of marine ecosystems and to a more mindful and sustainable visitor experience.
