The City Council of Mont-roig del Camp, through the Department of Beaches, has installed lifelines (handrails) in Cala Misteri and Crystal Beach, in Miami Playa, with the aim of improving safety and accessibility, especially for people with reduced mobility. The installation has been carried out by the company Sealand, which has also been awarded the beacon service for the coastline.
The total cost of the action is 3,500 euros, and is part of a citizen proposal of the 2023 participatory budgets, in which the installation of a handrail in Cala Misteri was proposed to facilitate access to the bathing area. However, from the Municipal Technical Services it was considered appropriate to extend the installation also to Crystal Beach, the most frequented in the municipality and with adapted services, to guarantee coherence and functionality.
These actions are in line with the strategic lines of the 2025 Use Plan, which provides for the incorporation of resilient infrastructures adapted to the new conditions of the coast, affected by strong storms and the regression of the coastline.
